Wedding Rings

  • These symbols of lifelong commitment not only reflect the two of you as a couple, but each of you individually as well. While a wedding ring should, in some way, the similar to the engagement ring it sits next to, it need not also be similar to the man's wedding band.

  • Men's
Many men choose a simple gold band because they are not aware of the options that are available to them now. Choose the right style is as important as it is for a women's wedding ring. It is something you will wear every day, and should reflect your personality. Beyond choosing between the standard metals of yellow gold, white gold, and platinum, there are also palladium and cobalt. Bands can have mixed metals, decorative grooving, and embedded diamonds. Width is important with men's rings, too. A man with very large hands will need a much wider band than a man with smaller hands. With all of the new styles, there is nothing boring about men's wedding bands.

  • Style
A woman's wedding band should roughly reflect the style of her engagement ring, but it doesn't need to be an exact match. A simple, classic band will go with any style, while a caved ring will be best suited to sit next to a more basic engagement ring. A carved wedding ring can, however, look beautiful next to an engagement ring with engraving. With diamond wedding rings, you will again want to make sure that the rings look right next to one another. Just because an engagement ring has pave-set diamonds all around it doesn't mean that the wedding ring can't as well. It is a matter of personal taste.

  • Wedding Sets
It is much easier to purchase a wedding set, which including both the engagement ring and the wedding band. Wedding sets are designed so the diamond engagement ring and wedding band are the same style and site flush with one another on a woman's finger. However, you might prefer to create the ideal engagement ring and then choose a wedding band to match it later. It is definitely easier to choose a wedding set and then only need to pick out a men's wedding band later, but it does limit the styles of engagement rings you can choose from.

  • Width
The width of a woman's wedding ring depends entirely on the width of the band on her engagement ring. If a woman with small hands already has a large, width engagement ring, choose a narrower band for her wedding ring is a better choice for her comfort. A woman with large hands can handle wider bands on both engagement and wedding rings, but might prefer not to. Women's wedding rings traditionally match their engagement rings.
